Heretic "Breaking Point" 1989

Heretic.. not really anything amazing here.. i'm sure this band was a signing for
the mad rush for all the record execs. to sign any metal band around at the time.
a decent release though.. it's has kinda clean vocals, a bit raspy at times though,
epic Thrash. by epic i'm sure you know what i'm sayin.. 12 string, synth song
intros.. not quite Queensryche'esc but you get the point. i never really got into
the clean vocals in heavy music but it had it's moments i guess. musically it's
definitely Thrash. over all it's worth checking out.

Gothic Slam "Just A Face In The Crowd" 1989

Gothic Slam.. this was around the time bands started experimenting with groove
oriented thrash, melody as well. i loved it instantly but the diehard leather and
denim clad thrasher duders.. not so much.

Powermad "The Madness Begins" 1988

Powermad "Absolute Power" 1989

Powermad.. gone way before their time. incase you need a comparison.. the best i
can do is maybe..  Annihilator's "Alice in Hell" and maybe a hint of Overkill
musically only though. so good and so missed.

Here We Go Again...

alrighty then.. the winds of change have once again blew through, i apologize to the one follower i somehow accumulated with past posts. and maybe, just maybe i've settled on something that'll occupy my time long enough to actually regularly update this blog. here's what time it is.. so.. around the early to mid 90's is when i devoted myself to cd only purchases.. prior to that i bought cassettes. i never really got into vinyl records.. in hindsight though i wish i had but i didn't so there's that. content.. heavy music.. nothing uber ultra rare although i'm sure i'll have an occasional cassette that's never made it to cd so that'll be cool.. i'm merely doing this as motivation to actually transfer my tapes to digital for a few reasons.. mainly because.. 1) i have a few hundred tapes.. 2) i'm not really down for re-buying all the releases again. the bonus material on the reissues is cool and all but usually it's poor quality live performances and/or demos so i don't feel like i'm missing all that much other than maybe the original audio is usually remastered but i do fairly decent with what i use so it's all good. nostalgia will determine what band or which tape i transfer.. a craving, if you will. i have a few i just transferred so i'll be posting those soon.

Quality for all releases will be.. LAME 3.98, V0 VBR and scans for as long as the scanner holds up.

if you're into what i'm doing.. Awesome. if not.. doesn't matter because i'm doing this more for myself and for anyone down.. i'm happy to share. i've been wanting to do this for some time now and have made several attempts but lack of focus plagued me so we'll see what happens this time. as for genres of "heavy music".. it'll pretty much be all over the place, oh and it'll be bands from the mid 80's and up. metal being the only unchanging variable. so enjoy, comment if only for nostalgia's sake.. or not. and break out the boombox.
